Description

Seline Keating lectures in Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) in DCU Institute of Education. Prior to this position, she taught for ten years in a variety of school types and settings. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Education with History and specialism in Dance from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick (2006), a Master of Education in Aggression Studies from Trinity College Dublin (2009) and a Ph.D from Trinity College Dublin (2012).

This course offers participants an opportunity to reflect on their approach to Bullying Prevention and Intervention in Primary and Secondary Schools. The workshop consists of Defining Bullying (e.g. cyberbullying, identity-based bullying); Victims, Bullies and “The Bully Circle”; Consequences of Bullying; DES Circular and Procedures:- The Anti-Bullying Policy; Whole School Community Approach; Bullying Prevention; Bullying Intervention; School’s Role/Teacher’s Role/Parents’ Role; Bullying Prevention and Intervention Strategies; Bullying Resources, Methodologies and Support.
