Event description
A relaxing, supportive and nurturing morning for expectant mothers kindly supported by Primark.

About this event

This special event is all about you and what you need as you transition to being a mum for the first time or for the fifth time (partners are more than welcome to join too!)

You will enjoy a relaxing and gentle yoga class followed by an empowering talk about the meaning of Matrescence; the powerful transformation that we all go through when we become a mother and we will finish off with a calming and restorative meditation.

As a special treat, everyone who attends will receive a €15 e-gift card* for Primark.

(*Primark gift card will be sent to attendees via email after the event. For use in Ireland only. Further T&C's apply)

We really hope you can join us and take this time out for yourself to relax, recharge and learn.

We are thrilled to have joining us on the morning three special women who are devoted to supporting and caring for women during the pre and postnatal period and are a fountain of knowledge when it comes to their areas of expertise.

Yoga therapist, Lydia Sasse will start the morning with a relaxing yoga class.

(We recommend you are at least 14 weeks pregnant to take part in the yoga class)

Yoga has been a lifelong pursuit, but to give her a greater understanding of how the body works, and why it sometimes doesn’t, Lydia has also trained as a Bowen therapist and completed a diploma in physiology and anatomy.

She has spent over a decade working with babies children and pregnant mums in a variety of capacities. She is a fully qualified womb yoga therapist and works with women to support them through all stages of womb life: from first period to fertility and conception, menopause and beyond.

Lydia has co-created the Wandering Into Wellness project and podcast, and the current series is titled Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond.

After our yoga class, Layla O’Mara will give a talk about matrescence; the powerful transformation that we all go through when we become a mother and how we can care for, support, and empower ourselves as we go through this rite of passage.

Layla works with women preparing for and navigating the radical transition we go through when we become mothers, otherwise known as matrescence. She is a trained postpartum doula, a licensed matrescence facilitator, a five element acupuncturist and mum of three. She offers one to one acupuncture and motherhood support, runs regular online courses helping expectant mothers prepare for their postpartum and will be launching an online course for mothers of all ages later this year.

Primark Parenthood

It’s a time of serious transformation but, amongst the flux of familyhood, one of the things you don’t want to ditch during pregnancy is your personal style. Your body is changing and your brood is growing, but it doesn’t mean you should feel limited to leggings or stuck in sweats 24/7. It’s about embracing the newness, without losing the old.

A maternity capsule wardrobe will make life easy and the Primark range, all in timeless neutral tones, will be the foundation of your new wardrobe as the weather gets colder. Knitted dresses and co-ords are big this season and what better trend for pregnancy than this collab between fashion and comfort?

Your new cold weather saviour, the cable knit dress is the ultimate throw-on. Swap slippers with sliders or ballet pumps for evening plans. The poplin shirt will be your staple for all occasions. Not only bump-friendly, but handy for breastfeeding (over our Seamfree Wrap Bra or Cotton Nursing Bra), it makes getting dressed a breeze even when you’re trying to function on a few hour’s sleep.

Sleep has never been more important so make sure you cherish those peaceful moments in our maternity nightwear. From wrap tops and leggings to Mickey Mouse pajama sets we’ve got cosy-wear that’ll see you through. This incredible stage of life can be a challenge at times, but choosing outfits shouldn’t be one of them.

We’ve created a one-stop shop in store where you can easily access affordable baby must-haves, allowing you to get back to playing with and cuddling your little ones – every second counts! Fill your bundle up with our organic cotton bodysuits, rompers and snuggly sleepsuits. We also have a selection of baby basics that will keep your mini me cosy, comfortable and picture ready in gorgeous designs. New for this season you can create the dream nursery filled with cute storage, cosy baby mats and wooden toys for your little one to enjoy. Primark baby is available in all Primark stores with selected nursery pieces in Mary Street.

Mum Talks are monthly meet–ups for women looking to feel inspired, learn something new and make new friends. Babies are welcome too! Tea, coffee and delicious fresh fruit and pastries will be available throughout the morning. You will also get to meet loads of amazing mums, bonus!

Mum Talks believe strongly that being a mum should not stop you reaching your career goals or enjoying your life passions, both of which are vital for self-care but can sometimes feel forgotten about or may need to be re-evaluated when you have children.

Mum Talks host meet-ups in a friendly and comfortable environment and invite 3 inspiring speakers to share their story and the tools they use to help navigate this exciting (and sometimes daunting!) time. Babies are more than welcome to join while you learn and feel empowered.

Mum Talks aim is to give you confidence and empower you as you get ready to return to work after maternity leave; or are thinking of starting your own business; or are adapting to life as a stay at home mum.

If you have any questions or need information on locating the venue or just want to give us some feedback please get in touch at hello@mumtalks.ie We'd love to hear from you.
