About this event
This special event is all about you and what you need as you transition to being a mum for the first time or for the fifth time.
You will enjoy a relaxing and gentle yoga class followed by an empowering talk about the meaning of Matrescence; the powerful transformation that we all go through when we become a mother and we will finish off with a calming and restorative meditation.
We really hope you can join us and take this time out for yourself to relax, recharge and learn.
We are thrilled to have joining us on the morning three special women who are devoted to supporting and caring for women during the pre and postnatal period and are a fountain of knowledge when it comes to their areas of expertise.
Yoga therapist, Lydia Sasse will start the morning with a relaxing yoga class.
(We recommend you are at least 14 weeks pregnant to take part in the yoga class)
Yoga has been a lifelong pursuit, but to give her a greater understanding of how the body works, and why it sometimes doesn’t, Lydia has also trained as a Bowen therapist and completed a diploma in physiology and anatomy.
She has spent over a decade working with babies children and pregnant mums in a variety of capacities. She is a fully qualified womb yoga therapist and works with women to support them through all stages of womb life: from first period to fertility and conception, menopause and beyond.
Lydia has co-created the Wandering Into Wellness project and podcast, and the current series is titled Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond.
If you want to know more about Lydia or have any questions don’t hesitate to find her on: @yogawithlydia on Instagram and Facebook
After our yoga class, Layla O’Mara will give a talk about matrescence; the powerful transformation that we all go through when we become a mother and how we can care for, support, and empower ourselves as we go through this rite of passage.
Layla works with women preparing for and navigating the radical transition we go through when we become mothers, otherwise known as matrescence. She is a trained postpartum doula, a licensed matrescence facilitator, a five element acupuncturist and mum of three. She offers one to one acupuncture and motherhood support, runs regular online courses helping expectant mothers prepare for their postpartum and will be launching an online course for mothers of all ages later this year.
