Burren Food Workshops

Join some of the most passionate food professionals in the Burren and further afield for a series of fascinating food workshops allowing you to share their expert knowledge.
There are six workshops to choose from and as each workshop is repeated at 2pm, 3pm & 4pm you can select up to three to attend. Each workshop will last approxiamately 30 minutes. Note that the ticket you select is specific to the time of the workshop you will attend so please take care when selecting your ticket. Tickets are limited so please book in advance.
Birgitta Curtin - Smoking Fish at Home
Owner of the award winning Burren Smokehouse and passionate foodie Birgitta will demonstrate how you can smoke fish at home. Tastings are included.
Lisa Guinan - Healthy Vinegars
Lisa, a certified Herbalist and Naturopath will bring nature alive through the Art of natural medicine creation. In this workshop she will demonstrate combining vinegar and foods for wellbeing
Neil Hawes - Making the best of your Burren Beef and Lamb
Neil is a local Lisdoonvarna award winning craft butcher. He will show you how to cut, prepare and cook Burren Beef and Lamb to make the most of this excellent product.
Valerie O'Connor - Kombucha workshop
Learn to make your own supply of the latest health craze - a 2000 year old fermented tea - from fermenting expert, cookbook author and food journalist Valerie. See and taste this amazing naturally fizzy probiotic drink in many flavours and explosions possible.
Sinéad Ní Gháirbhith - Cheese making made easy
Learn how to make Paneer in 3 easy steps from Sinéad who many will know from her superb cheese stall at local farmers markets across Clare.
Cearbhuil Ní Fhionghusa - Nature connection ceremony
Cearbhuil teaches wild food foraging. She will take you through a ceremony connecting with nature involving wild roots, nuts, and berries and live music. Attendees of this workshop will receive a take home gift.

In the adjoining Spa Wells Cafe the Burren Beílíní Showcase Buffet and the Burren Food Trail Cafe will both operate from 12.00noon to 5.00pm – featuring Burren Beílíní Making Demos from member businesses of the Burren Ecotourism Network and the very best of the award winning Burren Food Trail.
If you book through Eventbrite and need to cancel we will issue you with a full refund less any fees from Eventbrite for cancellations received through Eventbrite up to 12noon on Friday 29th October 2016. Cancellations received after this deadline will be non-refundable.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is a public bus route serving Lisdoonvarna - the 350 from Ennis to Galway. www.buseireann.ie for times. If you are driving to Lisdoonvarna there is very limited parking at the Spa Wells itself but there is extensive parking available at the nearby Pavilion as well as on street parking throughout the town.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
If the buyer will not be attending the workshops please send us an email from the email used to book the tickets advising the names of the people who will be attending the workshops. We will reserve space at each workshop in the name of the buyer for the number of tickets booked unless otherwise advised by email.
