Description
This year will be the second time that we are beginning the Burren Slow Food Festival weekend with a short trip on the fast ferry from Doolin to the first Aran Island, Inis Oírr (Inisheer). Doolin2Aran Ferries will bring us to this magic, wonderful island, where we stroll from the pier to Tí Ned located right on the sea.
Tí Ned is known for their seafood delicacies, fresh from the sea. The Ó Conghaile family is fishing most of their seafood themselves! Dinner consists of a seafood buffet as well as dessert with tea/coffee afterwards.
After the buffet, we will have time to visit the Aras Eanna Arts Centre to get a guided tour through an exhibition consisting of photographs taken during the dramatic rescue of crew members of the unfortunate vessel "Plassey" which is one of the points of attraction on the island (well known from the opening credits of "Father Ted"). We will also see examples of the traditional clothes that the islanders wore in the old days. The admission is free, donations welcome.
The ticket price includes the trip on the ferry, admission to the seafood buffet and the exhibition/guided tour.
