The programme for this concert will include all the competition pieces we performed at the Cork International Choral Festival 2014, at which we were awarded "Ireland's Choir of the Year", as well as those we will be performing at the Florilège Vocal de Tours international grand prix choral festival over the June bank holiday weekend.
A rich and varied programme, of contrasting eras and styles, it includes works by: Byrd, Schutz, Lassus, Monteverdi, Schumann, Fauré, Vaughan Williams, Martin, Orban, Machuel, as well as contemporary Irish composers Rhona Clarke, Seán Doherty and Éna Brennan.
We will also be delighted to be performing “Cantemus”, a new work written for the Mornington Singers by American composer Patrick O’Shea, who will be conducting us for this piece.
Advanced purchase recommended.
Online ticket ordering finishes at 4.00pm on the day of the concert. However any remaining tickets will be available to purchase on the door. Doors open at 7.30pm, and the concert starts at 8.00pm.
