Carlow Comedy Festival - The Last Laugh with Aideen McQueen & Support
Overview
Get ready to close out the Carlow Comedy Festival in style with a night packed full of laughter, local legends, and a little bit of audience madness in the legendary Tully’s Bar! Every ticket includes a complimentary pint of O’Hara’s 🍺 — because no great punchline should go uncheered.
Headlining our grand finale is the incredible Aideen McQueen — one of Ireland’s brightest and boldest comedians.
Described by Hot Press as “one of comedy’s undiscovered talents,” and praised by Des Bishop as “such a strong act… she can open, close, compere, and even sing-songs afterwards!” Aideen brings her quick wit, wild energy, and razor-sharp charm to Carlow for one unmissable night. A regular on RTÉ, TG4, BBC Northern Ireland, and BBC Radio 4, she’s lit up festivals from the Electric Picnic to the Edinburgh Fringe, and now she’s here to bring the house down.
Supporting Aideen are two comedy heavyweights from the Irish circuit:
Jason Brennan – Co-host of Shite Talk: An Irish History Podcast and resident MC of Underground Comedy at Dublin’s International Bar. Jason’s performed across Europe, the UK, and the US, bringing sell-out shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and supporting big names like Sam Tallent and Mark Normand.
Kevin Larney – Everyone’s fourth favourite MC! Winner of Dublin’s Next Top Comic and fellow co-host of Shite Talk: An Irish History Podcast, Kevin’s toured all over Ireland and beyond, supporting acts such as Freddie Quinn, Danny O’Brien, Stephen Mullan, Shane Clifford, and Emman Idama.
The night will be held together by Carlow’s own Shannon Basso Gaule, keeping the craic flowing from start to finish.
And for the brave souls in the crowd — this is your moment too! One lucky audience member will get the chance to tell a joke live on stage. Names will be pulled from a hat on the night… so if you’ve ever fancied a go behind the mic, this is your chance!
Carlow Comedy Festival is part of Féile Lonrach – Festival of Joy, Carlow’s brand-new Christmas Festival brought to you by Carlow County Council with support of Carlow Tourism , County Carlow Chamber , Carlow Regional Youth Services and An Garda. All proceeds from tickets from Carlow Comedy Festival goes to Pan Celtic 2026.
Join us for the festival’s big finale — a night of pints, punchlines, and pure joy.
