About this event
The Award 2 Coach Education course is the third award on the coaching pathway of Gaelic Games. Only coaches who have attained the Foundation and Award One coaching qualifications can enrol for the Award Two course.
The Award Two Youth/Adult course has been developed to take account of the different playing capacities that exist at youth (age 13 – 18) and adult (age 19+) levels, and the competencies that a coach is required to display when working with each of these playing populations. The course will focus on the further development of how and what to coach based on the playing group that you are involved with but also to look further at the integration of key areas that contribute to performance. The course will also expose coaches to the OTú model to do a personal, player and team analysis
The course is 27 hours in duration covering a number of key modules, including Introductory and Conclusion modules.

An Award 2 Coach Testimonial:
In terms of the level 2 coaching programme and what it has changed for me is that it has given me confidence in planning out a season and setting targets for the teams and how to do this.
It has inspired me to become more organised and professional in my preparation for the training sessions and there would be a greater level of detail.
After the sessions I now would sit down and self assess the session along with feedback from fellow coaches and players asking them what were our objectives which we laid out at the start achieved, was the session beneficial and also look for ways of improving it.
The course has encouraged me to look into other sports for inspiration and also to look at my areas of weakness as opportunities to learn; for example the area of strength and conditioning would be an area that I lack knowledge on but I am actively seeking out how I could improve my knowledge on this.
