About this Event

The National Library of Ireland collects and makes available the recorded memory of Ireland. The collections include more than 10 million items, including books, newspapers, manuscripts, photographs and digital media. As well as welcoming readers, there is an ongoing diverse programme of exhibitions, tours, talks and workshops across our city centre venues.

Tourism Day exhibition tour 1pm - TICKET REQUIRED: World War Ireland: Exploring the Irish Experience.

World War Ireland is a free exhibition at the National Library of Ireland that focuses on the unique aspects of the Irish WWI experience. The exhibition draws on the NLI’s collections of letters, diaries, recruiting posters, newspaper reports, cartoons, handbills and leaflets dating from 1914-1918.

With original artefacts, first hand personal accounts and eyewitness testimony, World War Ireland brings visitors dramatically inside the lives of those who experienced WWI.

The exhibition is free to visit on a self-guided basis 9.30am - 4.45pm (no ticket required)

NB: please note the entrance to this Exhibition is at 2-3 Kildare Street, which is at the Nassau Street end
