About Jack & Jill:

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provide specialist home nursing care to sick children in the warmth and comfort of their own home.

The aim of this model of homecare is to give these extraordinary families the gift of time to participate in the ‘normal’ things that most take for granted – activities with siblings, routine school and preschool events or just a simple good night’s sleep, while delivering quality care to the extra special child at home.

The service is provided through an army of community nurses and carers for the 348 children under their wing today.

Jack & Jill operate 365 days a year, has no waiting list and does not conduct means testing. Since 1997 they have reached into every community across the Republic of Ireland and have cared for almost 2,500 families. Typically, these children have complex needs are tube fed, oxygen dependent and are on stringent medication routines. Research has shown that these children do much better at home and, whilst the Jack & Jill nurses cannot change their diagnosis, they can help the family to cope better with the intensive caring regime.

End of life care is also a big part of what they do, and it is extended to a wider spectrum of children, regardless of their diagnosis, going home to die. Jack & Jill provide support for the whole family to the end.

Full proceeds of the event will be going to Jack and Jill, they will also be collecting donations at the event. If you can't make the event but still want to contribute, you can do so directly via the Jack and Jill wesbite here.

Lego Drop:

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation are collecting loose LEGO bricks as a new way to fund extra nursing hours for sick children across Ireland. Families, preschools, schools and businesses across the country can donate their unwanted LEGO to Jack & Jill.

Every €16 raised through this LEGO drive will gift one hour of home nursing care. So dig out those LEGO bricks, bring them along to the event and help Jack & Jill to provide much needed nursing care for more families across Ireland.

Autism Friendly

The Limerick Autism Group LAG) will be providing a sensory safe zone and play area. This is ideal for any individual that may become overwhelmed at the event. Their involvement makes this a socially inclusive and fully accessible exhibition.

LAG is a registered charity and a Not for profit organization that provides socially inclusive activities for people with autism and their families. Their head office is in Limerick and they provide activities to people from all over Ireland

The group founded by two parents Keith Enright and Caroline Hogan who both have teenagers with autism spectrum disorder. It was developed due to the lack of socially inclusive activities available for their children. It began with the development of Limerick autism camps and progressed to providing a number of inclusive activities.
