Childaid Cycle Challenge 2017
Sun 13 August 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 IST
On August 13th this year we will be holding the annual Childaid Cycle Challenge. This will be the 4th year that this has been organised and we hope this year will be even more successful than the last three.
Childaid is an Irish charity that supports children’s projects in both Ireland and Overseas. They strive to improve the welfare of disadvantaged children through education, health and residential care projects. The Childaid team give their time and effort for free.
This year we will also be supporting the Roscommon Cancer Support Centre, Vita House, who’s aim is to provide support that will enhance the recovery from Cancer for individuals and for their families.
The challenge consists of a choice of two cycles – either the 50km intermediate course or the 100km advanced course.
Over 100 cyclists sign up each year and this year the first 100 will receive a free cycling jersey which will be sponsored by local businesses.
Registration for the challenge is €25 online or €30 on the day. We also suggest raising money through sponsorship cards as every little helps.
The Cycle will leave Roscommon Leisure Zone at 10.00am and registration is from 9.00am onwards. There will be free food and refreshments for all cyclists and insurance is included.
We look forward to seeing you there and dont forget your helmet!
