Event description
Master Class: Understand anxiety in children. Learn the skills you need to teach children how to control their anxiety.

About this Event

Introduction to Master Class

Children can learn skills to manage their anxiety. Parents and professionals play a central role

Anxiety is part and parcel of everyday life. However, if a child is regularly overwhelmed by anxiety and unable to control it, all aspects of a child's life can suffer. Friendships, activities, learning and family life can be effected. When a child finds it difficult to cope with anxiety, their confidence and self esteem drops and the joy in life can be more difficult to find. There is nothing harder for a parent or a professional than watching a child struggle with anxiety and be unsure of how best to help.

The good news is that every child can learn basic psychological skills to improve their control of anxiety and to feel and be more resilient. Parents and professionals are a child's biggest resource in helping a child achieve this. However, having the correct psychological information, knowledge and skills is key for parents and / or professionals if they are to support and teach children about anxiety and how to deal with it.
