About this event

A mixture of drop-in and bookable events -

11:00am-12:00pm Design-a-saurus with author Debbie Thomas

Join author Debbie Thomas for a fantastic workshop that will focus on Debbie’s new book Chameleon Dad published by Little Island Books.

Debbie loves chameleons and dinosaurs, stars of her latest book Chameleon Dad.

Join her for a fun-filled foray into the world of stories. She’ll help you dig up ideas, piece together the bones of a story and design your own dinosaur, whether it’s a fearsome meat-eater or friendly veggie.

Debbie has written six books for children. She is the writer in residence at Crumlin Children’s Hospital and award-winning creative writing facilitator.

This workshop is aimed at children aged 8-11 years and will last 1 hour from 11-12pm.

1:00pm-2pm Deadly Dublin! with author and illustrator Alan Nolan

How well do you think you know Dublin? Join author and illustrator Alan Nolan as he brings you on a whirlwind trip around Dublin’s lost landmarks and creepiest crypts – as featured in his new children’s historical novel, Molly Malone and Bram Stoker in The Sackville Street Caper, published by The O’Brien Press – meet the ‘real-life’ Molly and Bram, and learn how to draw the deadliest Dubliner of all ... Dracula!

Alan Nolan is the author and illustrator of Fintan’s Fifteen, Conor’s Caveman and the Sam Hannigan series, and he is the illustrator of the popular Gordon’s Game books written by Gordon D’Arcy and Paul Howard, as well as Animal Crackers by Sarah Webb. His new historical children's novel, Molly Malone and Bram Stoker in The Sackville Street Caper, is out now from The O’Brien Press.

This workshop is aimed at children aged 9-12 years and will last 1 hour.

Book for the workshops by emailing Learning@nli.ie.
