About this event
A host of talented musicians will perform music spanning the centuries from the early music of the Renaissance to contemporary traditional and classical crossover. A number of new arrangements by composer Michael Holohan will be premiered during the concert. These include the following:
Bela Bartok's 'Roumanian Christmas Carols' arranged for string quartet. i.m.Martin Alioth (world premiere).
'Don Oíche úd i mBeithil ' Trad. Irish Christmas Carol (world premiere).
'Angels We Have Heard on High' arranged for solo voice, chorus, piano and string orchestra (Dublin premiere), lyrics by James Chadwick 1813-1882.
The concert will be presented by the well known RTE journalist and newsreader Eileen Dunne. An impressive list of performers will take part and lend their support to the Irish Cancer Society.
