Course Description

Run by CIArb Ireland. This is an active three day course that involves a number of interactive discussions, workshops  and rolling written assessments culminating in an Award writing exam on the afternoon of the third day. It is not a traditional taught course where the trainers take and lead the students through the material with assessment some months after the start  date of the course. The areas which will be covered during the workshops and discussions are listed below- the nature of the course necessitates the candidates having a strong existing familiarity with the topics listed. A session on Award writing is offered on the morning of the 8th ahead of the exam that afternoon.

Learning Outcome

After successful completion of the assessments from 6th - 8th October which conclude with an Award Writing exam on the afternoon of the 8th you will be eligible to proceed to take the Peer Interview that immediately precedes the award of FCIArb status.

Entry Requirements

Pre-entry you must have passed the CIArb Module 1 Law of Obligations and Civil Evidence or to have through other study have received an exemption from this Module

You must have substantial knowledge of the 2010 Arbitration Act which governs International Arbitration in the Republic of Ireland or equivalent legislation based on the UNCITRAL Model Law

As this is an intensive course you must satisfy yourself as to your personal suitability and in so doing you are encouraged to talk to one of the assessors, susan.ahern@lawlibrary.ie, before registration.
