Switzerland Thrash legends, CORONER will finally make their Irish debut on Saturday, May 2nd in the capitals National Stadium, with UK thrashers Xentrix, Acid Reign, Italy’s Klogr and more. Get the full line up below.

Often labelled a thrash band, CORONER’S music went far beyond what is usually thought of as ‘thrash metal‘. Their crushing discography is littered with genre defining brutal thrash metal classics not to mention their first four albums are considered to be the greatest thing that ever happened on the thrash metal field outside Metallica’ and Slayer’s first four.

Having formed in 1983 in their hometown of Zürich, the band released five albums and a semi-compilation over a period of eight years – from the unpolished and technical speed of 1987’s ‘R.I.P.’, the complexity of 1988’s ‘Punishment for Decadence‘, the technical quality of 1989’s ‘No More Color’ and its derivative ‘Mental Vortex‘ from 1991 to the heavier and more laidback style of ‘Grin‘– the band progressed consistently, without ever losing their identity.

Having disbanded in 1996 and their reformation in 2011, CORONER are reportedly working on a new studio album, which is due for release next year. This will be the bands very first time performing in Ireland and will take to the stage in Dublin’s National Stadium as part of Clang Metal Festival on Saturday, May 2nd.

Joining the festival bill are classic UK thrash squad, XENTRIX, who are set to bring a hefty dose of face-melting riffs to the days line up. Having recently signed with Listenable Records, the band will be hammering out a setlist from their critically-acclaimed discography including cuts from their awesome, ‘Bury The Pain’ LP which was released back in June and produced by Andy Sneap.

Sticking with UK Thrash, ACID REIGN will be making their return to Ireland for one exclusive performance at CLANG Metal Festival.

Having released their first album in 29 years ‘The Age Of Entitlement’ back in September and more recently – “Anthology” 1987 – 2017 on November 15th, ACID REIGN are no strangers to whipping up all kinds of chaos in the pit and will be hell-bent on doing so this coming May.

Alternative/Metal crew, KLOGR will be gracing the CLANG bill, bringing their hybrid of progressive/alternative rock to the National Stadium on May 2nd. Having toured with Butcher Babies and The Rasmus, this will be KLOGR’s debut Irish performance.

Rising Italian Death Metal crew, The Modern Age Slavery draw their influences from the likes of Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy etc…

Formed in 2007, The Modern Age Slavery rapidly gained unanimous critical acclaim due to their ferocious 2008 debut album “Damned to Blindness” via Napalm Records.

Check out ‘Regression Through Unlearning’, taken from their ‘Stygian’ LP. The band toured extensively in 2018 co-headlining Metalcon Festival (NL) with INGESTED, and supporting VADER and ENTOMBED A.D. in their European Chaos Tour.

Hailing from the North coast of Northern Ireland, Conjuring Fate bring classic heavy metal in epic proportions!!!

This highly energetic heavy metal band from Co.Antrim Northern Ireland were originally formed in 2005 by guitarist Phil Horner and vocalist Tommy Daly.

Born from the love of all things metal, guitarist Karl Gibson, bassist Steve Legear, and drummer Niall McGrotty joined forces to bring this metal machine to the stage once again! Their style of heavy metal has been compared to bands such as Iron Maiden, Elixir & Helloween.

Following their performance at this years Bloodstock Open Air Festival (UK), Dublin-based AeSect will be joining the Clang Festival line up for a lesson in flesh-ripping technical metal.

The band are currently deep in the writing process for a new album that is due to drop in 2020. This appearance will no doubt be loaded with some new material which we’re all looking forward to hearing sooner rather than later.

Having released their sophomore album ‘PYRES’ earlier this year, rising alternative metal crew WORDS THAT BURN will be throwing down their hefty anthems in the National Stadium as part of the days line up.

The Dundalk-based four-piece saw a significant rise in popularity outside of Ireland including Metal Hammer and Kerrang! Radio, who hosted the UK premiere for ‘Riptide‘ which has reached over 60k streams and continues to rise.

The guys will be launching a new single ‘Deathgrip‘ early 2020, so keep your eyes peeled for a new video and possibly new tracks. Get more information here.

Recently opening for Sacred Reich, Belfast-based, SINOCENCE will be on hand to to shove their hybrid of contemporary thrash and hard rock down your neck.

The Sinocence sound is a veritable tour-de-force in vicious, hook-laden, melodic metal. The band continue to focus on their solid song writing skills and intense rhythm section.

With new singer Duane Watson now added the dynamic and energetic sound the public have come to expect from Sinocence will be now be delivered with an added punch. Being based in Northern Ireland, reaching any kind of musical status can be an exhausting task. Undeterred, Sinocence have gone from strength to strength with their collective drive, determination and cast iron will to succeed.

Having just recently shared a stage with Acid Reign, not to mention, Lost Society, Power Trip and Arnocorps (to name but a few), Belfast Thrashers, SCIMITAR will be joining the CLANG line up on May 2nd.

Razor-sharp guitars and snarling vocals are what these guys sever up, so make sure you catch them early during the day’s festivities.

Founded in 2018 in Dublin, Ireland, The Risen Dread are a metal band with Will (guitar), Matt (bass), Colum (drums) and Marco (vocals).

Having been in many metal bands, among bands of other genres, previous to this venture, everyone brings new elements to add to the final sound. Hoping to incorporate infectious grooves into heavy, riff-laden beasts to infest the ears of metal fans worldwide.

With dates already booked for UK and EU next year as well as their participation in Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland, The Risen Dread are a band that have their priorities in place for 2020. A band to keep an eye on that’s for sure.

Kildare-based Death Metal five-piece GRAVE SERMON will be bringing a healthy dose of brutality to the days event with an aural punch in the guts.

Dublin-based three-piece that specialise in alternative/grunge. The band reference their influences from the likes of Butthole Surfers, Rollings Band, Soundgarden and Melvins.
