Join us for this live closing event of the exhibition 'A Mobile Living Thing' with artist Brian Fay and curator Rachel Gilbourne.

Closing event – a conversation with artist Brian Fay and curator Rachael Gilbourne on the impetus and themes explored in the exhibition 'A Mobile Living Thing'.

Brian Fay is an Artist and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at TU Dublin. Using drawing he examines the materiality of pre-existing artworks and objects to consider our complex relationships to time. He exhibits nationally and internationally and has been invited onto the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation Residency Programme 2022. His work is in the Arts Council Collection, National Drawing Collection, Crawford Art Gallery, DLR Art Collection and the Office of Public Works. He holds a practice led PhD from Northumbria University, and was the winner of the 2014 Derwent International Drawing Prize and the 2016 AXA Drawing Prize.

Rachael Gilbourne is a curator working at IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art, and as one half of RGKSKSRG, with Kate Strain. Previously, Gilbourne has worked with Kerlin Gallery (2014-15); as General Manager at Black Church Print Studio (2012-13); Exhibitions Manager at Project Arts Centre (2012); and Assistant Curator at Project Arts Centre (2011). She has served on the board of directors for the RHA School (2015-2021); Black Church Print Studio (since 2014-2018); The Market Studios, Dublin (2011-13). Gilbourne co-founded and co-ordinated Visual Arts Workers Forum (2011-2016). She is an NCAD Graduate with a BFA in Sculpture and holds an MFA in Visual Arts Practices from IADT, Dublin.

• Every member of the audience must have a valid ticket with a clear and visible QR code.

• In order for a booking to be made, we will require contact details for the main booker. If necessary, this contact information may be used to aid with contact tracing and will be passed to the HSE or other relevant agency for this purpose only. This information may be shared with the HSE for up to 30 days following your visit. Please note that no other information will be shared by dlr Arts Office with the HSE.

• Management reserves the right to cancel or make any essential changes to events at any stage.

• Please note that this event will be photographed/recorded for video for PR purposes. If you prefer not to have your photograph taken, please make yourself known to Event Management personnel beforehand.

• If you or anyone in your group feels unwell or has any Covid symptoms in the lead up to the event, do not attend. You will be entitled to a full ticket refund.

• The use of face coverings is mandatory in all areas of dlr LexIcon and during the concert.

• Latecomers may not be admitted.

• Consumption of food or beverages will not be permitted in the Gallery, dlr LexIcon, at this event.
