A unique opportunity to discover the East Belfast of Sir Van Morrison’s youth

About this Event

As we listen to the songs in the streets and locations which inspired his lyrics and music.

On this two hour walking tour, LYNN CORKEN will walk with you the streets and visit the locations of Sir Van Morrison’s youth, which inspired the legendary music we know today. We will also hear about the fascinating history of this part of the city – the Blitz of 1941, Harland and Wolff shipyard which built Titanic, and the linen mills and ropeworks which led to Belfast’s industrial revolution.

But you’ve come for the music …..

  • so come and listen to “Brown Eyed Girl” in the Hollow,
  • get caught one more time on Cyprus Avenue and
  • feel the silence on Hyndford StreetThis 3.5 km walking tour takes about 2 hours, and is all on flat ground.
  • Wear a comfortable pair of shoes and be prepared for the weather – it isn’t always sunny in Belfast!
