Event description
A walking tour, in Italian, to explore Cork City center surprisingly connecting sights and facts of Cork and Ireland with Modena and Italy.

About this Event

Meeting point: Café Torino. Café Torino is the most popular café among Italians in Cork: therefore the best place to choose as meeting point for this tour. From the café, Fabio Cavallini will start the journey in space and time.

● First, we will reach Grand Parade and there we will talk about the Siege of Cork (1690), and we will meet a beautiful young girl from Modena: Queen Mary of Modena (1658 – 1718), the last Catholic Queen of Ireland.

● Second, we will walk towards Professor George Boole's house. There we will discover the incredibly adventurous life of one of his daughters: Ethel Lilian Boole (1864 – 1960).

● Third, we are going to walk through North Main Street, Paul Street, Emmett Place (Opera House), Drawbridge Street and Merchant’s Quay to meet Maestro Luciano Pavarotti (1935 – 2007) and to know his connection with Cork in 1957.
