Event description

Description

Just the thing to lift the winter blues and remind us that Spring is here, a night of side-splitting laughs from a quartet of Ireland's best comedy talent. Edwin Sammon, Kevin McGahern, Andrea Farrell, Lorcan McGrane

Our Compere: Edwin Sammon has established himself as one of the most popular comedians in the country over the last few years, his unpredictable and crowd pleasing style saw him win the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck award in 2011 and led to him supporting the likes of Jason Byrne, Phil Jupitus and Ardal O’Hanlon while performing at major festivals and comedy clubs across Ireland and the U.K.

Kevn McGahern: Originally from Cavan, Kevin first began performing stand up in 2009 before joining The Hardy Bucks on RTÉ 2 as Simcard. Kevin took over as host of Republic of Telly. As well as performing in the top Irish comedy clubs, he has performed in a number of festivals including Galway Comedy Carnival, Forbidden Fruit and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2013, he toured with his show 2 Grown Men alongside fellow comedian Edwin Sammon.

Andréa Farrell is a funny girl from Dublin. A bright spark in Irish comedy, she quickly made an impact as a finalist in the RTÉ New Comedy Awards, a TV showcase for promising comedians that spring boarded her onto a staple of Summer festival slots like the Vodafone Comedy Festival, Kilkenny Cats Laughs, Electric Picnic and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Andrea broke new ground recently taking a camper van around Ireland with her chums The Lads of Comedy, bringing their anarchic ‘supergroup’ approach to stages near and far.

Our very own Lorcan McGrane: Resident MC of the Monaghan Arts Network, comedian Lorcan McGrane has been regaling audiences with his uniquely funny of stories and jokes inspired by comics, action figures and wandering around rural charity shops seeking the geeky strangeness of everyday life.Starting stand up in 2007, Lorcan has supported such artists as Ardal O’Hanlon, Colin Murphy, Kevin McAleer, Kevin McGahern, and Foil Arms & Hog. He has appeared on Today FM, BBC Ulster, BBC Radio 4, Newstalk, Phantom FM, and the Comedy Corner of Dublin City FM and written comedy pieces for Buzz Magazine, Six Magazine, Temple Bar Review and Sun Zoom Spark.
