About this Event

The Irish Universities Association would like to invite you and/or other relevant members of your HEI to a consultation session on Part-Time/Flexible provision in Higher Education. The session will take place at TU Dublin (Grangegorman)

This consultation process is being led by the IUA’s Part-Time/Flexible Subgroup, which was convened by IUA on behalf of the Access Steering Group for HEIs. This Subgroup is made up of a cross-representation of stakeholders – including from Universities, Institutes of Technology, HEA, CAO, National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, Ibec, USI and Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection – to consider issues of part-time and flexible provision in higher education, with a view to informing the discussion, shaping future developments, and advising HEIs and policy makers.

During its first phase of work, the Part-Time/Flexible Subgroup developed a discussion paper and received feedback on this from the Access Steering Group for HEIs and both the IUA Registrars and THEA Registrars Networks.

The second phase of this work will now comprise three in-depth consultation sessions in Cork, Dublin and Galway, aimed at seeking detailed input and feedback from a range of perspectives across Higher Education Institutions and other stakeholders.

Following the consultations, the discussion paper will be turned into a set of draft proposals and recommendations for consideration by the Access Steering Group, HEI Registrars, the HEA and DES in early 2020.
