We are pleased to invite you to the Cork Transport Alternatives 2022 Conference, a major event on the future of energy use in transport, low carbon vehicles and smart transport innovations  that will be held on Friday 4th April 2014, from 0900 -1600, at the Clarion Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork. The event is being organised by Energy Cork, the energy sector cluster for the Cork Region, in conjunction with the EU Atlantic Area’s BATTERIE Project and the South West Regional Authority.

Speakers, in addition to other national and international speakers, will include:


  • Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Agriculture, Marine and Food
  • Mr Gerry Murphy, Chief Executive of the National Transport Authority
  • Mr Sean O’Sullivan, Co-founder and Managing Director of Carma




This event will discuss a broad range of transport planning & policy issues, as well as innovations in vehicle technology, smart transport apps, public transport, modal shift and sustainability measures in the transport sector. These will be discussed in a Cork context, in light of the preparation of local authority development plans for the period of 2015-2021.

Attendance at Cork Transport Alternatives 2022 is free and a light lunch will be provided, but places are limited and registration is essential

About Energy Cork

Energy Cork is the energy industry cluster for the Cork Region. Energy Cork is an industry-driven organisation. Members include a very broad mix of organisations active in the energy business in Cork. The organisation pursues coordinated actions to strengthen research, enterprise and employment within the energy sector in the Cork Region. The initiative is supported by Cork City Council and Cork County Council through their respective Economic Development Funds. Energy Cork was initially conceived by Cork Chamber with a view to building on the unique opportunities for the region to secure competitive advantage in the energy sector.
