South Dublin County Sports Partnership are introducing a 6-week Couch to 3k Walk to Jog Programme tailored to help complete beginners.

About this event

South Dublin County Sports Partnership are introducing a 6-week Couch to 3k Walk to Jog Programme tailored to help complete beginner, increase walking fitness and progress to jogging with relative ease.

Medal to be provided to participants who complete our Virtual 3k walk/ Jog which on Saturday 19th Feb 2022.

It is a simple programme that begins with more walking than jogging, and gradually evolves into more jogging than walking. No fitness levels are required, just a commitment to completing 3 sessions per week for the duration of the programme.

Weekly plans will be emailed to each participant on Monday and each participant will be asked to send back their records on a Sunday evening.

The programme will begin Monday, 10 January 2022.

Health Screening

3. Diabetes

4. Epilepsy

5. Dizziness or fainting

6. A bone, joint or muscular problem or arthritis

7. Asthma or respiratory problems

8. Any sustained injuries or illnesses

9. Any allergies

10. Are you taking any medication

11. Has your doctor ever advised you not to exercise

12. Is there any reason not mentioned above why any type of physical activity may not be suitable for you

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, medical clearance must be obtained prior to participation in any activity session. I agree to contact my GP and obtain permission prior to commencement of the activity and that this permission be given to the instructor.

Declaration - In participating in this programme, I affirm that I have read this form in its entirety and I have answered the questions accurately and to the best of my knowledge.

I understand that it i am responsible for monitoring myself throughout the activity and should any unusual symptoms occur, I will cease participation and inform the instructor.
