Description

We take you on a Trippin Traveller exclusive all-women tour of the Pushkar fair. Considered the world’s largest camel trading fair, the Pushkar fair is an annual five-day camel and livestock fair. It’s one of India’s most highly-rated travel experiences – where the colors of Rajasthan truly come alive. Join us in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the color, spectacle, and carnival of one of the last great traditional melas in the world.

We will meet in Jaipur and enjoy the day, gawking at the city's many splendors palaces before leaving the next day for Pushkar. Spend two days at the fair, interacting with tribals from all over Rajasthan and feasting your eyes on the cultural extravaganza on display.

Stay in comfortable tents and enjoy traditional Rajasthani food. Fun has never been so fun! At Rs 15,890, catch the earliest camel!

Day 1

Jaipur

On arrival in Jaipur in the morning, we prepare for Pushkar by seeing a little bit of the Pink City. See the old fort in Amber, built with white marble and red sandstone, and which looks even more attractive with the Maota Lake in the background. We can also wander into the Jaipur palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, courtyards, decorative art, and carved doorways. The adjacent Jantar Mantar or Astronomical Observatory makes accurate predictions even to this day. Try clicking a selfie at the Hawa Mahal before hitting the local markets. Jaipur is a shopper’s paradise, and how can we miss this?

Day 2

Pushkar

We drive down to Pushkar – the reason we are here. Check in at the camp and then wander around, exploring the cultural extravaganza that the fair provides. Experience India’s greatest tribal gathering. Thousands of devotees also gather at this time to take a dip in the Pushkar Lake. There are cultural events, musical odysseys, and the well-known camel competition. Stand in awe as majestically decked-up camels vie for attention. Rajasthani tattoos also popular, and might be the perfect souvenir for your trip. And should we talk about the food? Delectable Rajasthani vegetarian food. Forget the diet for these two days.

Day 3

Pushkar

If you didn’t get your chance to shop of Rajasthani souvenirs in Jaipur, then today is your last chance to grab some of the most exquisite jewellery, artifacts, handicrafts you can find anywhere in India. Indulge in people-watching, and make new friends from all over the world.

Day 4

Jaipur

We depart from Pushkar, one last swish of the bangles, and one last look at the camels before moving on to Jaipur to catch the flight back.

The above is just a sample itinerary and customizations are possible for large groups. If you have a group of 4, then we can arrange this tour any day you want, during the Pushkar fair. Come, experience a different world. Let’s understand the place we are in. The people we are with. After all, that’s what travel really is. A broadening of your understanding.
