Creating an Enriching Outdoor Learning Environment in Early Years

This webinar will explore outdoor learning and showcase video examples of best practice in early years settings. It will introduce the theory behind the importance of children`'s connection with nature, including video of contributions from Richard Louv and Florence Williams and will focus on practical evidence-based resources to promote outdoor learning in early years settings.

It will discuss resources that can work in any early years setting and give examples of outdoor learning experiences that promote the four pillars of Aistear, exploring and thinking, communicating, identity and belonging and well-being.

Finally, the webinar will give examples of practical and easy to use resources for early years professionals that may be used in Summer, Spring, Autumn and Winter.

Objectives:

• To support early years professionals to encourage outdoor play in all settings

• To explore the importance of children`'s connection with nature in the early years

• To give practical examples that promote the four themes of Aistear the early years curriculum framework and outdoor learning in early years settings

• To provide resources for outdoor nature activities in all settings in spring, summer, autumn and winter

Participants will receive a copy of the PowerPoint with links to all resources mentioned in the webinar and all examples explored during the webinar.

This workshop will be delivered by Zoom.
