'Creative Centenaries': A history and literary festival marking the 1922 centenary with lectures, poetry, art, live music and workshops.

About this event

Please join us for a one-off festival to mark the 1922-2022 centenary of Irish history and literature!

This started off as an idea to mark the centenary of Michael Collins' death and then it grew from there with the idea to also mark the centenary of the publication of James Joyce's Ulysses and to have poetry, music, art and workshops with local artists and crafts people. We decided to make an event out of it and we hope you will enjoy the programme we have put together.

Early bird tickets are available and children are free! Single day tickets available or discounted weekend tickets.

Please go to Add-ons to book camping or the rustic eco huts.

There will be live traditional music throughout.

Children under 18 are free, please select this option when ordering tickets so we know how many children will be attending.

This is an eco campsite so there are compost toilets and limited electricity etc. Please try to "leave no trace" and be mindful of waste and recycling.

There are camping huts available to rent for the event - please note these are off-grid with no electricity or heating, with their own private compost toilet. These have double futon beds and are designed for two people, but if you'd like to squeeze in children or have children in tents outside the hut, this can be accommodated, please get in touch for more information. Please see https://airbnb.com/h/anouksnook for photos.

You can also bring a tent to camp for the weekend if you would like to stay over. There are communal kitchen facilities, showers and compost toilets. If you are staying over, please bring your own breakfast ingredients.

Please note this is a farm that is being rewilded, with farm animals, so please take all necessary precautions and make sure children are supervised at all times.

This is a self-funded event with no grants or funding. If you are unable to attend but would like to be a patron of the arts and local community events like this, your donations would be very gratefully received, thank you.

Please consider car sharing.
