Are you working in the creative sector in DLR and curious about how sustainability and climate action can shape your work?
Join us for a series of four short, engaging workshops designed to spark ideas, support reflection, and empower you to use your creativity to be part of a more just and sustainable future in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Attend one or all four—each workshop stands alone, but the full series offers the most benefit.
Workshop 4: Creating Futures – Imagination as a Tool for Change
Led by Eimear McNally and Roisin Markham
How can we imagine—and create—a future worth living in?
This workshop invites artists to explore the power of imagination as a form of activism. Through creative exercises and inspiring ideas, we’ll explore using creativity to shape new possibilities.
What to Expect:
· 2-hour sessions full of inspiration and interaction
· Learning about sustainability and the climate crisis
· Participatory activities to explore your own responses
· Space for reflection and discussion and connection with each other
Who’s it for?
Artists, creatives, and creative businesses based in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown—whether you're a visual artist, performer, designer, writer, producer, or creative business/industry.
Four Workshop Themes:
· Ecology – understanding living systems and our place within them
· Economy – exploring alternative models for sustainable futures
· Society – reflecting on justice, equity, and global responsibility
· Futures – using imagination to shape what comes next
To attend each workshop you will need to reserve a place on each workshop event page.
Thursday 16 October: Ecology 10.30am to 12.30pm
Saturday 15 November: Economy 11am to 1pm
Saturday 29 November: Society 11am to 1pm
Thursday 15 January: Futures 10.30am to 12.30pm
Our Facilitators
Eimear McNally
Eimear has 20 plus years’ experience of creative facilitation, beginning in community arts and then moving onto Global Citizenship Education. She has been assistant lecturer in CCAD in Cork teaching on the Creativity and Change programme for many years. She designs and leads workshops for a wide variety of organisations, using participatory and visual methods.
Roisin Markham
Roisin is an experienced facilitator and business strategist. She is the founder and network steward of the Irish Doughnut Economics Lab. She is a member of the WEALL Ireland Hub Creative Community which has inspired her work with new social imaginaries and the work of Joanna Macy.
