Event description
Public panel discussion and Q&A on the criminalisation of humanitarian space

About this Event

The UN estimates over 130million people are in need of humanitarian assistance worldwide in 2019. But just as these needs are mounting, the humanitarian community has seen a parallel closure of civil society space, through restrictions on aid delivery and criminalisation of assistance.

This panel discussion on the criminalisation of humanitarian space brings together experts from across policy, research and practice to discuss the implications of these developments in a range of contexts.

All welcome.

Speakers include:

Andrew Anderson, Front Line Defenders

Prof Niall Ó Dochartaigh, NUI Galway

Patrick Haughey, Humanitarian Unit, Dept of Foreign Affairs and Trade
