About this event

This Culture Night, discover the historic Hôtel de Breteuil in Paris, which now houses the Embassy of Ireland in France.

The Hotel de Breteuil was built in the early 1890s by the eighth Marquis de Breteuil, Henri-Charles Joseph Le Tonnelier, a career military officer and later a Member of Parliament in France. The result was a combination of modern comforts, innovative techniques, and a decorative style reminiscent of a much earlier era. The Irish government acquired the building in 1954 and the building and its rooms were renovated in 2006.

Today the building houses the Embassy of Ireland in France, the residence of the Irish Ambassador, the consulate of Ireland and the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the OECD and UNESCO. The reception rooms are used for diplomatic, business and cultural events which support bilateral relations between Ireland and France.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour start time. The guided tour will be in English and takes 30 minutes. Event start and end times are Paris time.
