Culture Night will reach its 17th year in 2022 and is due to take place on Friday 23 September.
Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people's lives, today and every day.
Culture Night has expanded to towns and villages across Ireland since its origins in Temple Bar, Dublin in 2006. Now under the stewardship of the Arts Council, this national moment celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland today; connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and opening up pathways to ongoing engagement.

Ahead of Culture Night 2022, the Arts Council will host a series of nationwide meetings to share the findings from its research report and the post event analysis from 2021. These meetings offer a forum for Culture Night organisers to learn about emerging trends from organisers, audiences and artists. Sinéad O’Reilly , Head of Local, Place and Public Art, Arts Council and Maria Moynihan Lee Director of Milestone Inventive and national coordinator of Culture Night will host the meetings.
Meetings will take place in Sligo, Portlaoise, Limerick, Dublin, Cork and Galway in March and April. Bookings are limited.
