CULTURE NIGHT: Creating Change during Covid-19: Volunteers are CRiTiCALL
Event Information
About this Event
Dublin City Volunteer Centre is proud to host a live podcast that tells the story of CRiTiCALL: how a community came together to support people leaving domestic violence during COVID-19.
Launched as a response to the estimated 30% increase in domestic violence calls and the #StillHere campaign, CRiTiCALL has been an incredibly successful collaborative project that is now growing nationally. To date, 1,700+ hampers, 180 letters/art and 500+ volunteer hours have been donated. CRiTiCALL has brought people together and started a conversation about domestic violence that, as a community, we have often been afraid to have.
Join us for a live discussion with those involved, along with stories, photography, videos, visual art and music.
CRiTiCALL is is a partnership between: Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Safe Ireland, Dublin City Volunteer Centre and is supported by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Volunteer Centre, Fingal Volunteer Centre, Louth Volunteer Centre, South Dublin County Volunteer Centre and Wicklow Volunteer Centre. Local community partners - The Iveagh Trust, Serve the City Dublin, Community Guards and the Scouts among others - are helping to provide the needed support and facilities on the ground.
Dublin City Volunteer Centre is the one-stop shop for volunteering in the Dublin city area, supporting non-profit organisations and volunteers.
