Community Project for girls & boys in Sandymount

D4CoderDojo is open for business on Saturday the 11th October from 2pm – 4pm at the Star of the Sea Parish Hall (adjacent to Star of the Sea Church and School) Leahy’s Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.

Places are available, free of charge, for children aged 7 to 12 years.

Tickets will be available from 4.30 pm on Monday the 6th October at EventBrite – www.eventbrite.ie search for D4CoderDojo@StaroftheSea.NOTE: Places are limited to 50 children so it is recommended that you book early to avoid disappointment.

We recommend that children bring a laptop with them on the day. Our Dojo will focus on teaching “Scratch”, therefore we recommend that participants download the programme in advance of the session. Please make sure that all children attending have a laptop.

Scratch is free to download at http://scratch.mmit.edu/. If you would like to use certain pictures can you also have these downloaded on to your laptop in jpeg format.

All are welcome at D4CoderDojo@StaroftheSea but children attending must be accompanied by a nominated parent/guardian. No more than 4 kids per parent/guardian please.

For your information – UPC has invited Go4IT (www.go4it.ie) to help bring additional skills and knowledge to our Dojo – so expect a few new faces in our sessions for a few weeks. Go4IT is run by Claire Hayden and Deirdre O'Brien both experienced teachers and industry professionals, passionate about technology enhanced learning.
