African Dance is a high-spirited, fun, high-powered rhythmic dance experience for anyone who loves to dance. With live drumming percussion, this highly energetic class expands on traditional dances of West Africa incorporating a lot of hip twisting, jumping, arm swinging, high knee lifting and all round fun. Catherine's classes are energetic and dynamic - allowing students to completely immerse themselves in the joy of dancing, while at the same time getting a full body and cardio-work out.
Catherine's classes begin with a strong warm up that build strength and flexibility in the body, followed by solid African dance 'technique' training, which all lead to the high point of the class - the upbeat dances that exude strength, rhythm and a sense of release and joy. If you love to dance and are fired up by the sound of live drumming, this class is for you! Catherine will teach a mixed level class so all are welcome, beginners included.
Please note: Class fees cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
