BARRE WORKOUT (Pilates and Ballet barre)
Barre workout is a total body fitness technique which combines the grace and fluidity of classical ballet, with the core strength and body-conditioning of pilates. Barre fitness has emerged as one of the most popular fitness trends in recent years, but many barre fitness programs are not based on dance technique.
Paul’s barre workout courses are firmly based on dance technique. Class starts with a dynamic pilates mat based sequence. This in turn is followed by a classical ballet-barre, and a short ballet centre practice. Class then finishes with a cool-down stretch based on flow yoga.
Barre workout is excellent for toning and improving mind-body co-ordination and developing fitness, strength and flexibility. Paul draws on over 20 years of training in professional dance, yoga and pilates to develop this total body workout.
All classes are taught by Paul Clancy. Paul is a professional dance artist with more than 20 years' experience. He holds an M.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Limerick and is a graduate of the College Of Dance, Dublin. He is qualified to teach both pilates and yoga to advanced level. Paul is a very popular and experienced teacher.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing for ease of movement. Fresh, clean socks or ballet shoes for the barre work.
