Event description

Description

To celebrate the release of new singles 'Say When' and 'Believing', me & the Major 7ths are putting on an intimate gig in the luxurious Studio 10, right smack in the heart of Dublin City Centre. This is an early evening gig so you can have the craic afterwards. Support comes all the way from France with the brilliant Osmojam. Note there is no bar, but rest assured you will not go thirsty. It's a been a while since our last gig, and the capacity is quite limited - do book early to avoid disappointment. Danny x

Danny G & the Major 7ths

Following up from the acclaimed 2014 debut album Love Joints, 2019 will see the release of 'The Lookout' - a collection of songs featuring the cream of Irish soul musicians and several wonderful guest vocalists. 'Say When' has been on rotation since it's release - RTÉ recommended playlist, Radio Nova, Today FM, WLR, KCLR 96FM, Flirt FM, 8 Radio, Dublin City FM, RTÉ Pulse, Raidió na Life etc.

"‘Say When’ is golden all over... Fans of Thundercat and even soul acts like Leon Bridges will find much to enjoy in the soaring vocal lines and swung bass grooves" - Nialler 9

"I'm crazy about it... It kinds reminds me of D'Angelo and Prince... Really mad about this tune." - Kelly-Anne Byrne, The Beat Goes On, Today FM

"The smoothest of vocal harmonies and a mouth-watering instrumental accompaniment by the best in the business will have me reaching for TLC vs. Charles Bradley" - Remy

Song of the Week - Roddie Cleere's Irish Music Show (iMS)

Osmojam

Osmojam is Nadia Henry, vocalist, keyboard player and author. When she's not adding to the bright, quality catalogue of French soul music, she's writing about it (frenchsoulrnbisnotdeadyet). Her 2014 debut Échappée is full of 90s flavoured RnB joints (like this one). You can also catch her doing jazzy covers of neo soul classics from her bedroom (Facebook). She's flying over from Paris especially to do a short solo set! Lucky us

"Those already versed in French Soul/Afropean Music should find an LP on par with similar artists; Les Nubians, Leslie Phillips or even Zap Mama, brimming with enough jazzy/soulful production to make it a perfect auditory backdrop to unwind with yet boasting the right amount of solid songwriting to make it mentally engaging as well." - Bama Love Soul
