About this event

Of all the aspects of analytics, visualization is the most important in today’s age. The sheer amount of data being produced through various media such as social media, the Internet of Things, and e-commerce make it cognitively impossible for humans to capture and register the aspects of the numerical and non-numerical data with ease. Combined with decreasing attention spans, it becomes a challenge to convey your story to the stakeholders clearly and concisely.

This workshop is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and broad understanding of visualization principles to be able to create charts to convey the findings and insights without being bogged down by the sheer weight of data. The workshop is not too technical and will limit itself to the fundamental principles of visualization. You will develop an appreciation of human brain cognition of visual cues and how best to exploit the strengths and limitations of the human brain to convey your story.

We will go on a journey to explore different types of data, both small and big data, to establish a ready-reckoner for different charts and graphs to display those. Going through the journey of visual analytics we shall see how visual analytics can be used to perform preliminary analysis and exploration of data in absence of any formal statistical models.
