Event Information
About this Event
This year’s Masterclass event will take on a different format to previous years using Zoom and will be more interactive throughout. This will allow each coach can contextualise the learning directly into their domain and improve their coaching practice. The core areas covered will be:
Workshop 1: Being the best coach for your athletes.
Workshop 2: Designing & Delivering Great Coaching Sessions
Workshop 3: Developing your Team’s Play - principles, decision making and tactics
Workshop 4: Competition Day coaching - Team talk, half time team talks, debriefs
The new workshop format provides four 3¼ hour sessions. While we recommend the progressive format of the four sessions, coaches can also select individual workshops at a cost of €35 (available at a later date). The workshops will be led by DCU Coaching Science Lecturer, international hockey coach and world-renowned coach developer, David Passmore along with other top coach developers. Participants will be required to do short pre-session tasks and contribute to small group discussions and as such places will be strictly limited as a result.
Who should attend?
Any coach of any level (club, school, representative) who wants to improve their athlete’s (12 years upwards) or team performance through being more effective in HOW they coach. The content will be less relevant for those coaching participants who are Under 12.
The dates and times are as follows (Coaches would ideally do 4 sessions at the same time but some flexibility will be permitted):
Fridays: 18:00-21:15 GMT on the 8-15-22 & 29 January SOLD OUT
