About this Event
De/Coding Openet is open to ALL third level students looking to show up and show off their coding and problems skills at this fun and energetic event! Winners have the chance of serious cash prizes!! There will be a mix of team and individual challenges.
Openet is also hosting a short reception from 6.00pm so interested students and guests can get to know us better and meet the rest of the team. This will allow you to find out more of what we do, what makes us different and why working for Openet gives you an unrivalled opportunity to work for Ireland’s largest privately-owned software business. You will also get further info on the Openet Graduate Programme #BeYourFuture.
So come along, meet our people, ask us questions, eat our food and drink our beers – but mainly figure how you can be your future at Openet.
You can register as an individual or as a team. Teams can be made up as a maximum of 4.. If you register as an individual you will be assigned to a team on the day.
Key items for the event:
- Java 6.0 or newer is required for running Robocode
Tip: Experience tells us that if you have Java installed on your laptop prior to arriving at RoboCode you will be off to an ideal start.

Tip: Good to know the environment you will be playing in.
- Robocode API (Java) - the Robot API and API for Java applications to control Robocode
Tip: Have a browse and be familiar with the APIs. We are only using RoboCode for Java.

1. You don’t need to bring any Bots, we will start you off as part of the competition.
