Event description

Description

Kathryn Mannix is on a mission: she wants us to understand dying, so that we can be better prepared and less afraid.

The Irish Centre for Social Gerontology, NUI Galway and Cairde End-of-Life would like to invite you to an evening with Kathryn Mannix. Drawing on her long experience in palliative care and in cognitive behaviour therapy, her best-selling book 'With the End in Mind' is an invitation to reclaim the forgotten wisdom about life's ending. Kathryn will read from the book and will discuss its themes with Catriona Crowe, historian and curator of the First Thoughts Talks events at the Galway International Arts Festival.

The goal of Cairde End of Life is to raise awareness about death and dying in Ireland, and to provide training for individuals who are interested in serving their communities as End of Life Cairde.
