A CO-PRODUCTION BETWEEN THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART, NEW YORK AND SCIENCE GALLERY DUBLIN
What happens when design and violence collide? When creativity, art and engineering mix with power, pain and politics? How can an act of creative destruction surprise us with consequences both intended and unintended? What began as an online experiment at MoMA, New York comes to life at Science Gallery Dublin this October.
DESIGN AND VIOLENCE explores the myriad manifestations of violence in society, and features works from the original curatorial selection alongside new pieces and artefacts. From AK-47s and military drones to computer viruses and hostile furniture, DESIGN AND VIOLENCE explores both the extreme and the routine ways that these two themes influence our everyday lives.
Join curators Paola Antonelli, Ralph Borland, Lynn Scarff and Jamer Hunt for a special reception to launch DESIGN AND VIOLENCE on Thursday, October 13th at 18:00.
