Developing RPL Communities of Practice: Introducing the National RPL in Higher Education Project.
About this event
Hosted on behalf of the RPL Practitioner Network by Nora Trench Bowles of the IUA, this webinar will introduce a new Higher Education Initiative under the HCI. The key presenter for the event is Grace Edge.
Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a passion for something that they do and who learn how to do it better by interacting regularly. In this session, a new Community of Practice will be introduced: the National RPL in Higher Education Project, funded through the Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3 (Agility & Innovation). Key partners in this community include nineteen publicly funded higher education institutions. Attendees will hear from a range of speakers, who will share their experiences and learnings from the project to date. Speakers look forward to learning from the RPL Practitioner Network and to gleaning practical advice from participants regarding the development of RPL-friendly organisations.
Speakers include:
• Professor Paul McSweeney, Vice-President for Learning and Teaching, University College Cork
• Dr Eavan O’Brien, Research Lead, National RPL in HE Project
• Graham Glanville, Institutional Project Lead, Trinity College Dublin
• Dr Clare Walsh, Institutional Project Lead, IT Carlow.
