Ultra Route

Starting at Brandon Creek walkers will follow a route to 'Halla le Chéile' , where a hot breakfast will be provided, and onwards to Castlegregory. This part of the route passes over the shoulder of Mt Brandon, encompasses the magnificent and spectacular scenery of Sauce Creak and provides incredible views of Tralee Bay, Loop Head, The Seven Hogs, the Maharees Islands and the sandy beaches of Lower West Kerry.

Having enjoyed the refreshments provided in Castlegregory walkers can decide to either (i) continue walking and follow the route to Fitzgerald's Bar in Camp or (ii) finish in Castlegregory where transport will be available to return to Blennerville.

Regular Route

Starting at Brandon point, walkers will join the main road, passing the nostalgic fishing village of Brandon Quay From here, walkers will follow the main road, through Cloghane Village to Fermoyle Beach and exit at the nearby Castlegregory Golf Club and continue on route to Castlegregory Village where refreshments will be provided.

Having enjoyed the refreshments provided in Castlegregory walkers can decide to (i) either continue walking and follow the route to Fitzgerald's Bar in Camp or (ii) finish in Castlegregory where transport will be available to return to Blennerville.

Walkers can also decide to join in the Challenge by starting in Castlegregory and following the route to Camp.

From Castlegregory the trek continues on a mix of back roads and beaches with Gleanteenassing Forest, Sliabh Mish Mountains on the right hand side & Tralee Bay to the left as walkers approach the final stop at Fitzgeralds Bar in Camp.

Transport will be available along the route to facilitate any walker(s) who may decide that they have enjoyed enough of the challenge.

Buses to Blennerville will be provided from Fitzgeralds Bar in Camp to St Pat's Club in Blennerville.

Registering

Note: On-line ticket sales will close at 17:00 on Friday 2nd June. You can register at St Pats Blennerville (V92 RH98) on Sunday 4th June for Ultra route from 4:15 to 5 a.m. , for Standard Route from 7 to 7:45a.m. ,

Early Bird option: €55 before the 1st May; €60 from the 1st May.

When Registering please indicate which option you are most likely to undertake as this will help in the planning of transport and food requirements.

Option 1 ( Ultra Route - Brandon Creek to Fitzgerald's Bar, Camp 48Km ):

Starting at Brandon Creek on the West side of Cnoc Bhréanainn to Halla le Chéile via Brandon Point (12Km). Hot breakfast will be available in Halla le Chéile to fortify you for the rest of the trek to Camp .

Check in at St Pats Club, Blennerville from 4:15 am to 4:45am

The bus from St. Pats Club for the Ultra route will leave at 5:00am, pick-up at the Junction Bar at 5:10am. Walking to commence at 6:00 am approx.

Option 2 (Standard Route - Brandon Point to Fitgerald's Bar, Camp 32Km):

The standard route will start at Brandon Point and finish at Fitzgerald's Bar in Camp.

Check in at St Pats Club, Blennerville from 6:15am to 6:45am

The bus from St. Pats Club for the Standard route will leave at 7am, pick-up at the Junction Bar at 7:10am. Walking to commence at 8:00 am approx.

Walkers can decide to (i) complete the 32Km route (ii) complete the route from Brandon Point and finish in Castlegregory or (iii) start in Castlegregory and finish at Fitzgerald's Bar, Camp.

Transport will be available along the route to facilitate any walker(s) who may decide that they have enjoyed enough of the challenge.

Buses to Blennerville will be provided from Fitzgerald's Bar in Camp to St Pat's Club in Blennerville.

Plan your start time..to finish within time

All participants are required to complete whatever section of the DWC they undertake by 17:30 i.e. will have signed off as completed along the route or in St. Pats Club grounds by 17:30.

At the end of the day's walking all walkers are invited to relax in the grounds of St. Pat's GAA Club in Blennerville where a barbeque and music will be provided by the Club.
