Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Ex-Stiff Little Fingers Members Henry Cluney & Jim Reilly are joined by bassist Ave Tsarion to headline a night of punk rock chaos to Letterkenny!

Support on the night comes from Letterkenny punx legends Dogmandu and rising scene newcomers Cherym from Derry.

XSLF: 'Back in 2009 I was asked by Chris Monk if I wanted to do some solo gigs supporting the Damned and the Alarm. Having not really thought of it before and after initial worries, I decided to give it a go. It was great and I loved it!

Fast forward a few years and Jim Reilly contacted me about the possibility of forming a band. As always, I hesitated, but he finally browbeat me into agreeing. Again it has turned out to be fab fun and a great adventure.

We play a mix of Stiff Little Fingers songs that we were both involved in and our ever growing catalogue of originals. Some have said that without Jake Burns there is no SLF... Well, I totally agree! We are not, nor have ever claimed to be, Stiff Little Fingers.

Originally with Petesy Burns on bass and now with Ave Tsarion permanently in place we are off on our merry travels all over. We will be around your area soon so for a guaranteed fun night out ... seeya up there!!' - Henry Cluney

Dogmandu and Cherym are both Disturbance veterans at this stage having both appeared for the No. 58 crowd already in our short existence.

Dogmandu have been covering the local punk scene for decades through main man Owen Mahone under different guises, while the current lineup has been going strong for the past number of years with Kev on bass and Mike on drums along with lead guitarist Paul Brennan, this lineup brings a fresh sound to the band that has led to calls for a big debut album to finally come to fruition. A Disturbance favourite and one not to be missed!

Cherym are a young rising band from Derry, bringing a freshness to the punk scene and a refreshing bit of bite to the stage, fast becoming known as one of the most exciting young bands to come from the North-West in quite some time. Hannah Richardson (guitar, lead vocal) leads a strong lineup, ably backed up by Nyree Porter on bass and vocals and Lauren Kelly on drums, these three young women have been captivating audiences with all-energy performances and have also become one of Disturbance favourite acts of 2017.

Doors open 9:30pm, music from 10pm.

Tickets on sale following Disturbance #9, from Central Bar Letterkenny, Burrito Loco, Universal Books and online from eventbrite.com, priced at just €7.
