Presided by: Honourable Cllr. Paddy McCartan representative of the Lord of Dublin. Along with prominent members of Irish-Indian community, academics, members of diplomatic corps and businesses.

Diwali or Deepavali is an Indian festival celebrated every year in autumn, Diwali is similar to Christmas. It signifies the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Over 1.3 billion people celebrate Diwali in India alone. Diwali is also an official holiday in India, Fiji, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Suriname and many other nations.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This Event is not recommended for under 7 years old children.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

City Hall is situated at the junction of Dame Street and Parliament street, en route to Christ Church Cathedral. The building features 4 stone pillars framed by ornate balustrades. There are 3 entry points to City Hall; the Front Door from Dame Street, the West door from Castle Street and the side entrance from Barnardos Square.
Bus Routes: 27/ 54a / 56A / 77A /123/ 150
Car Parks: Jury’s Car Park Christchurch / Andrews Street Car Park / Drury Street Car Park By foot: A 5-minutes walk from Trinity.
Luas Stops: Red Line: Jervis/ The Four Courts, Green Line: St. Stephen’s Green, Dart Station: Tara street / Pearse Street.

What can I bring into the event?

  • An electronic or paper ticket is required for every person attending.
  • Please do not bring backpacks or large items.
  • Glass or cans, alcohol and any weapon will not be permitted.

Admission:
Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone under the influence of alcohol.

Photography:

Professional photographers need to inform the organisers and they need to take care of General Data Protection Regulation-GDPR at the Diwali Celebration.

What's the refund policy?

Up to Wednesday 31st October 2018, you are entitled to full refund. After this, No Refund Policy will apply.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

An electronic or paper ticket is required for every person attending including children.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Tickets are non-transferable.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, a ticket can only be used by the person whose name appears on the ticket. If the name on the ticket doesn’t match the attendee then you are at risk of being denied entry.
A reissue may not be permitted and it is the discretion of the event organiser.
