Djouce, War Hill and the Tonduffs, A Guided Hike
Event Information
About this Event
Our route begins by following the Wicklow Way up the northern slopes of Maulin. Rounding one corner brings the majestic Powerscourt Waterfall into full view. Still following the WW we traverse the Glensoulan Valley floor and over the upper Dargle river, now above the water fall, as we then begin our steady climb up Djouce's north-eastern spur, before finally breaking away for the summit (725m). We descend from Djouce, passing the curious "Coffin Stone" as we do so, but we stay on high ground as we make our way over War Hill (686m) and Tonduff North (642m). The water basin in between these two hills is the source of no less than three rivers, namely the Dargle, the Avonmore and the Liffey (so we can expect boggy conditions!).
