Event Details

Please note there are still a limited number of places available which you can purchase at the venue (Cabinteely Clubhouse in Kilbogget Park) between 1pm and 1.30pm on Saturday. Unfortunately due to the huge demand this year, there are no t-shirts remaining for those who have not pre-registered.

Want to take part in a fun event for all the family and get a little exercise? If so register now for the dlr Community 5K, taking place on Saturday 12th October at 2pm in Kilbogget Park, Ballybrack.

Now in its 5th year the dlr Community 5K is going from strength to strength! This family fun event brings together the whole community: people of all abilities, young and old, serious runners and casual strollers. Once again kicking off dlr Social Inclusion Week, all fitness levels are welcome, and you can walk, jog, run, wheel, push a buggy or even participate hopping in fancy dress if you want!

The 5-kilometre route will take participants around the picturesque Kilbogget Park and is suitable for all levels of ability and fitness. There is an entry fee of just €5 for adults (children are free) and participants will receive a t-shirt, medal and goodie bag as well as refreshments to keep energy levels up.

Places are limited so it’s important to book yours today. Please note that we are experiencing issues with booking through tablet devices, so if possible please register wit a PC or laptop.

This annual event is organised by DLR Sports Partnership and its partners Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, dlr Leisure Services, the HSE, Dublin Civil Defence, Sallynoggin College as well as Cabinteely Athletic and Football Clubs. Funding for this event has been made available through the HSE, dlr County Council and with very kind sponsorship from dlr Leisure Services.

The dlr Community 5K is a great opportunity to be active, get everyone in the community together and maybe raise some money for your local charity or group. So register now and see you at the start line!

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership

The Irish Sports Council established the Local Sports Partnership (LSP) initiative as a forum for sport at a local level, which is charged with improving opportunities to participate in sport for every member of the community. The key aims of the LSPs are to increase participation in sport and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership was set up in April 2008 and works closely with the Local Authority and other key partners to promote participation, inclusion and coordination in sport in the County. Partners include; the Third level sector, VECs, Health Board, FÁS, commercial interests, sports clubs, schools and voluntary/community organisations. Over the past 3 years a key focus of the work of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership has been in the area of sports coach/volunteer training and education.
