Are you a young writer of age 9 to 12? Do you love creating characters and imagining new worlds? Would you like to find out more about writing and publishing from the experts? Then this is the event for you! At the Young Writers’ Workshop you’ll hear from award-winning writers and an experienced editor and you’ll also do some writing and drawing of your own.

Join us for a morning of imagination and creativity, hosted by dlr Writer in Residence, Sadhbh Devlin and award-winning children’s writer, Sarah Webb with guest speakers Dave Rudden, Alan Nolan and Gráinne Clear.

Grainne Clear is a Senior Editor at Walker Books. She is also an accomplished storyteller.

Sadhbh Devlin is the current dlr Writer in Residence and has written highly acclaimed picturebooks for children, including Beag Bídeach.

Alan Nolan lives and works in Bray. He has written and illustrated many books and comics for children and grown-ups, including Fintan’s Fifteen, Conor's Caveman and Sam Hannigan and the Last Dodo.

Dave Rudden is a former actor, teacher and time-displaced Viking currently living in Dublin. He is the author of the award-winning Knights of the Borrowed Dark trilogy, and enjoys cats, adventure and being cruel to fictional children.

Sarah Webb is an award-winning children’s writer. Her latest book, Blazing a Trail: Irish Women who Changed the World, illustrated by Lauren O’Neill won an An Post Book Award. Sarah also runs creative writing clubs for children.
