Description

Join us as at the launch of 'Do you speak English?' a research report by Crosscare that examines access to interpreter service provision in the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection's Intreo Offices. The report uncovers evidence that the Department is failing to provide adequate access to interpreter services for people who are not English speakers and are seeking to access its services. It offers recommendations on ensuring access to quality and confidential interpreter provision through best practice models.

The event will centre around the discussion of access to interpreter services across public services in the context of migrant integration and equality of access.

The report will be launched by Professor Mary Gilmartin (National University Ireland Maynooth) who has researched and published widely in the area of migration and integration services in Ireland; and by Dr Mary Phelan (Dublin City University), an Interpretation policy expert and Chairperson of the Irish Translators' and Interpreters' Association.

Registration & refreshments from 3pm, launch from 3:30 - 4.30pm.

We look forward to seeing you there.
