Description
Donal O Connor Memorial Cycle is a family friendly cycle along the beautiful Waterford Greenway. The event, now in its 7th year, aims to create awareness of positive mental health while opening a conversation around suicide prevention and giving people a chance to reflect in a positive and supportive atmosphere. All funds raised go to Waterford Marine Search & Rescue, a 100% voluntary organisation who run suicide prevention patrols in Waterford city.

Sadly I lost two of the most important people in my life to suicide. My brother Nen died in Dec 2010 and my husband Donal followed in Nov 2011. I was absolutely devestated by these losses, my boys were my world and I will never be the same again. I decided to try to do something to raise awareness and to bring people together and so Donal O Connor Memorial Cycle was born in Sept 2012.
