The course will be led by professional Artist Peter McSweeney

This course is intended for beginners or for those with experience who want to develop their skills. This 5-week block is the first of a 10-week course. These 5 weeks can however be booked as a standalone course. The second block, to be paid separately, will be advertised at a later date.

Over the course of 10 weeks, students will be introduced to a whole range of materials, starting with pencil, pen and ink. Using still life as the subject students will progress to pastels and oils.

In the next 5 week's block, students will be taught the basics of perspective and composition with an introduction to watercolour the following week. The next 3 weeks will be a final project where students will paint a landscape in oils.

Course content:

Block 1 (This Block)

Week 1: Introduction to Still Life using pencil, pitt charcoal and pen and ink.

Week 2: introduction to colour using colouring pencil.

Week 3: Introduction to pastels.

Week 4: Introduction to paint, use of a palette and mixing paint. Painting a Still Life in Oils.

Week 5: Continuation of oil painting.

Block 2 (Also at €140 ,To follow shortly after Block 1, )

Week 6: Introduction to perspective and composition.

Week 7: Introduction to Watercolour.

Week 8 to 10: Landscape painting in Oils
